had any amount
of bother about our
bill of lading &
passing the custom
house, got landed
about 4 oclock
shipped at 8

They would have taken the train back to Seaforth, where their journey had started

Tuesday Sept 20
they started for
Montreal about four
in the morning we
are afeared of running
aground, got quite
sass from the
mate for not taking off
our horses at Point
Levis, we got to Montreal
about 5 oclock, could
not get along side
the wharf till 3
on Wednesday after
noon

Sunday Sept 18, 1881
got out into the stream
about 8 in the morning
& anchored there, very
warm & wearisome, ship
carpenter was telling me
today that the other
party was walking their
horses today and they were
badly cut up
 Monday Sept 19
they commenced
about 12 or one oclock
this morning to take
out salt, it come up
a heavy shower after
Daylight, they discharged
cargo till about 10 oclock
at night

Subscription would be a collection taken up for this loss

Sighted land about
4 in the morning, seen
Several fishing boats, porpois
& whales, the sea as smooth
As glass, getting along fine
Got through the straits
                of Belle Isle

Friday the16        up at 4
Steam of several times
Through the night and
Sounding kept blowing
The fog whistle towards
Daylight, got through
The gulph and close along
Shore, could see the people



Saturday Sep 17, 1881
Got on the pilot about
5 in the morning, the
Water is like a sheet,
Expect to get into Quebec
About 4, we got to Point
Levi bout an hour
Before sundown all the
Passengers got off


Point Levis is located on the south shore of the St Lawrence River, opposite Quebec City
